My eleven year old nephew has dyslexia. He had some difficulty copying from the board or a book at school and his written work was somewhat disorganized. He also had difficulties to remember content, even if it involved a favorite storybook or video, and was diagnosed as dyslexic. Ever since he received his reading pen for his birthday present it has become great help when it comes to study, reading his favorite books and comics. Device is very easy to use; it is same like using a highlighter.
He is now highly motivated to study because he can do it all by himself without asking other people about the meaning and pronunciation of the words. Since there are no more interruptions he can finish the book in no time as his reading speed is greatly increased. This gives him more and more confidence every day, which is wonderful! As a result his pronunciation and vocabulary is greatly improved and overall communication with other is much better.
The reading Pen understands text that is from 6 to 22 points. You get best results with strong contrast, such as black or blue text on white paper. Red text on yellow page would be difficult to scan, which is not that bad, because fortunately many books do not use that kind of color scheme. Stylized text will also be captured including bold, italic, underlined and inverted. Caps and small caps will also be scanned, but the style will be turned into a regular text. To avoid glare, hold the pen more vertical position when using it on laminated document, like driving license, or when scanning paper that is very shiny.
Good communication skills are necessary in the modern world we are living in. Make sure your child develops healthy self-confidence; by assuring that he or she can read and study effectively even with learning difficulties.
